We are looking for a WE Communications Specialist can embody this spirit while working under leadership of the Communications Director and Manager to support consumer and employee communications.
The Communications Specialist will support the creation of compelling and strategic stories and campaigns. Work will focus on helping to develop stories and content that positions Converse as a forward-thinking company redefining how today’s youth interacts with brands.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
If this is you, you’ll be working with a highly motivated team across Communications and other business functions, at both the Geography and Global level.
As WE Communications Specialist, you will partner with theWE Communications Dir, WE Communications Manager, and key business stakeholders to support integrated communications programming across the WE Geography and its key territories. You will foster authentic connections with internal and external audiences across WE to advance the Converse narrative through clear, consistent, breakthrough brand, purpose and product storytelling.
A typical week might include organizing and manage assigned projects and events, Participating in communications team idea generation or following up with Converse employees and partners to answer questions and supply information. It might include working with the WE Communications Director or WE Communications Manager to provide assistance to media on-site at special events, photo shoots, interviews and press conferences.
As the WE Communications Specialist, you will research, write and edit press releases, fact sheets, and speaking points. You will support the creation of Communication plans and work with PR agencies. You will support development of Employee Communications plans and storytelling that inform, inspire and enable Converse WE Employees.
You will work with the WE Communications Director and Manager to administer allocated budget. This includes invoicing; producing reports, working with finance and updating team on a regular basis.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
Converse operates within a matrixed structure. You will directly report to the WE Communications Director as a part of a WE Communications Team.
As part of the Global Communications organization, you will engage and liase with your Global Communications counterparts at the Global level and across Converse’s other Geography teams (NA, Asia, GPM).
As a member of the WE Geography team, you will partner with the WE Communications Director, WE Communications Manager and other functional and territory leads to help develop and execute strategic communications planning
• Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, business or related field.
• A minimum 3-5 years relevant work experience, previous Communications/PR experience preferred.
• Experience with a fashion or sneaker brand and clear point of view on the industry, key players and a perspective on where it’s headed.
• Strong writing and organization skills.
• Explicit, long-term interest in pursuing a career in Communications.
• Base level understanding of media landscape and media relations.
• Good knowledge of Keynote, PowerPoint, Excel and Google Drive.
