Finance Analyst |Pharma

Context & Main Purpose of Role

Globally, Pharmacy represents 18% of the Health & Beauty Channel, with €13bn in sales and growing at average 4% per year. Pharmacy in Europe delivers half of the global channel value (€6bn). With a solid and fast-growing business in D&E markets, Unilever has a limited footprint in EU, entering this space is a strategic priority for BPC categories and will be done through a combination of organic designed-for-channel portfolio as well as M&A.

The finance Analyst for U.Labs in Italy is the finance lead for the Italian Pharmacy business working closely with the Sales and Marketing team. This person is responsible for all finance aspects in the Italy pharmacy business unit ranging from commercial business partnering as well as managing local accounting requirements.


Key Responsibilities

Commercial Finance business partner to the Italian U.Labs team

- Support the sales team in strategic pricing, innovation analysis & landing new business cases in the Italian Pharmacy channel

- Support the team in understanding customer growth and performance and partnering on key planning and forecasting processes

- Support the marketing team with local business cases for new brand or product launches, working closely together with the global team based in London

- Work closely with the U.Labs Sales lead to create insights and optimise the route to market

- Work closely with Ulabs Country Manager for financial forecasting and P&L management


Local Finance Accounting requirements working closely with the Unilever Italy Finance team based in Rome:

- Build good relationships with the Unilever finance team based in Rome

- Manage and submit the monthly S&OP forecasting process

- Management reporting and understanding business results

- Manage local accounting requirements, working closely with the Unilever finance team

- Budgeting


Global Leadership Team:

- To build strong relationships with the wider U.Labs team across other markets, especially across the finance community

Relevant Experiences ’E’ (essential) or ‘D’ (desirable)

-       University degree (M.Sc) with a Finance Master or Other similar finance background

-       Experience or working in multi-national teams and/or a virtual team environment is an advantage but not essential (D)

-       Experience in financial, operational and business partnering roles is an advantage but not essential (D)

-       Experience in the Pharmacy channel is an advantage but not essential (D)

-       Audit/Accounting/Controlling experience is an advantage (D)
